DMA graduate, Precious Listana, appointed to San Francisco Youth Commission
De Marillac Academy graduate, Class of 2011, and SHC senior Precious Listana ’15 was sworn into service as the San Francisco District 6 Youth Commissioner by Major Ed Lee at a City Hall ceremony this week. Precious joins 16 other Youth Commissioners, each appointed to a member of the Board of Supervisors and the Mayor.
The San Francisco community voted Proposition F into legislation in November 1995, creating the Youth Commission. The Youth Commission is responsible for advising the Board of Supervisors and the Mayor on legislative policies, programs, priorities and budgets concerning San Francisco youth. They are further tasked with identifying unmet needs of the City’s youth through research of existing programs and funding, engaging with advocacy groups and organizing public forums.
We are excited for Precious and look forward to the leadership and vision that she will bring to District 6 and the SF Youth Commission!
