Josephine Alonzo is a San Francisco native, former Tenderloin resident, and proud graduate of De Marillac Academy. She has been working in banking and financial services across the bay area for over 9 years, where she quickly identified a fervor for empowering low-resource community members.

Outside of work, Josephine is involved with mutual aid groups who provide outreach programs to asylum seekers, day laborers and undocumented community members. In 2021, she founded the East Oakland Little Free Library and is organizing to open another one this year.

Josephine enjoys reading, road trips, hiking and spending time with her family outdoors. She is grateful to return to De Marillac and to share its mission with others.
