Graduate Spotlight: Antonio C. '06
Each De Marillac Academy graduate has a unique path and with great pride, we celebrate and honor our graduates and their accomplishments. In celebration of our 20th Anniversary, DMA will feature a graduate spotlight each month on our blog, in our e-news and on social media. Check out how our alumni are making a difference in their fields and communities.
What have you been up to since you’ve graduated from DMA?
I attended Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory after graduating from DMA. Once I finished there, I attended St. Mary's College of California to study Psychology. After completing my bachelor’s degree, I began a master’s program and recently graduated with a master’s degree in counseling.
What are you involved in that is bringing you joy or connecting you to your sense of purpose?
In August I started a new job as a school counselor at De La Salle Academy.
What are your personal goals for the future?
My goals include to continue to increase my financial literacy and become more financially stable. Also, I am interested in learning how to master surfing, skateboarding, joining a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class and participating in more physical activities in general.
What are your professional goals for the near future?
As the new school counselor, my goal is to establish the counseling program at De La Salle Academy. This is a very exciting opportunity, and I look forward to serving the students and families in my new school community.
Can you share how your time at DMA shaped you as a person and shaped your career aspirations?
DMA was there for me beyond my time as a student. I interned at De Marillac as a part of my counseling program and worked with the fourth and fifth grade students. My internship experience helped prepare me to become a better equipped counselor especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
