Thank you to our Summer Volunteers
Thor’s hammer — After learning how to make 3D designs in OnShape, our students implemented the tools and techniques learned from the past classes to CAD Thor's Hammer.
At De Marillac Academy, we are proud to nurture a tight knit, family-like community. Our De Marillac family is made up of individuals who believes in the DMA mission. From our students, graduates, families, benefactors, faculty and staff, to our community partners, it takes a village to push our 15-year commitment to our students forward. We are immensely grateful for our community partners who stepped up this summer in the midst of the pandemic to provide engaging and educational summer experiences for our students.
Happiness to the Tenderloin — Excerpt by Helayne B. ‘21
The Tenderloin is more than people sleeping on the streets.
It is more than hearing the police sirens every night.
It isn’t only dirty streets.
It’s about the stories that everyone has.
The hope that’s here.
In the words of Helayne, the Tenderloin is full of hope. Additionally, what most people don’t know about the Tenderloin is that the spirit of our community extends beyond our location at 175 Golden Gate Avenue. This is evident through the cumulative efforts of our partners, listed below, who made virtual summer programming possible. This summer, DMA students participated in virtual writing workshops, dance classes and other activities with our community partners. We commend our partners for their adaptability and creativity during a very unique time.
Thank you to the following partners for your commitment to our students. We invite you to join our family and stay connected by subscribing to our newsletter, volunteering with our students or by making a gift in support of our students and graduates today.
