Student Experience
The De Marillac Academy community practices and teaches six virtues – responsibility, compassion, gratitude, perseverance, leadership, and integrity – to uphold the values in our Lasallian Vincentian model. These virtues lay the foundation for our Schoolwide Learning Expectations.
De Marillac Academy students develop responsibility by:
committing to life-long learning and service;
taking ownership in reaching their academic potential;
demonstrating social awareness and community involvement.
De Marillac Academy students practice compassion by:
recognizing the love, guidance and respect that God’s creation deserves;
showing Christian values in their treatment of and interaction with others;
upholding the ideals of dignity and respect for themselves and others.
De Marillac Academy students display gratitude by:
recognizing God as the source of all gifts, blessings and talents;
appreciating all that they receive from others;
respecting the diversity of individuals of all cultures and backgrounds.
De Marillac Academy students apply perseverance by:
advocating for themselves and others in the face of spiritual, personal and academic challenges;
striving to become academically proficient and to think critically as problem-solvers;
discovering new ways to learn and grow as they prepare for high school and beyond.
De Marillac Academy students exhibit leadership by:
serving as positive role models, as inspired by the Lasallian and Vincentian charisms;
engaging the world with God’s vision and seeking to change it for the better;
interacting across diverse communities with social competence.
De Marillac Academy students embody integrity by:
acting with courage in the promotion of Catholic social teaching;
displaying honesty and an awareness of right and wrong;
employing thoughts, words and actions that are consistent with the Gospel.
