Rebecca Shannon has a varied arts education including dance with School of American Ballet, theater at HB Studios and art at The New School in New York City, as well as vocal studies with Birdey Rutkin and Billy Philadelphia in San Francisco.

She has taught K-8 art classes for the last 20 years in both public and private schools. She was previously the teacher and director of the art program for the LeRoy Neiman Art Center at Pier 9. She joined De Marillac  as the art teacher after the new LeRoy Neiman studio was built.

When she isn’t thinking up fun projects for her students she is teaching and performing wwing dance at City College or having fun with her family and her dog Holly.
