"God has chosen you
to make him known to others."
- St. John Baptist de la Salle
Dear De Marillac Academy Families, Students, and Friends,
Today is the last day of trimester 1. I am proud of our accomplishments made during the first trimester. The academy celebrated the Feast of St Vincent de Paul this trimester during assembly and Mass. We celebrated Nativity Miguel Coalition Spirit Week with 50 other Nativity Miguel Schools in the network. The community supports student learning. A huge thank you to the Build Group, BDE, and DCI for working with our 5th and 6th grade class to participate in another successful Sandcastle Classic. Due to popular demand this trimester, we have three girls' volleyball teams instead of two. Thank you to all the volunteers and support, especially Coach Emi and Coach Quintero.
November brings the exciting Fall season into full bloom. We will kick off the month with a Mass at the cathedral for SHC students. We will celebrate trimester 1 with an awards ceremony on November 19. Fall Conferences start on November 20. Families who haven't completed the Title I Income survey are encouraged to help DMA receive federal funds to support students. Thank you to the 7th and 8th grade families who completed the Springtide survey.
The November Lasallian/Vincentian theme is "Creative." The school community thrives on creatively supporting students, graduates, and families. This month, we reflect on how we can solve problems creatively and find ways to show learning and understanding.
I look forward to November and to giving thanks. Thank you for reading the newsletter. Live Jesus in Our Hearts, Forever!
Your Servant in Christ,

Jojo de Guzman

Family Meetings are designed for support families in their own growth and development. In years prior we have covered topics that address, child safety, mental health, child development and more. In collaboration with our Student, Family & Graduate Support Program, we want to continue to provide families with the space for them to grow in their own learning as the primary educators in their students lives.
Family meetings are mandatory for all grade levels, at least one member per household should be in attendance. If a family is unable to attend, it is the responsibility of the family to inform the Family Partnership Coordinator or SSC Coordinator 24 hours in advance. Failure to communicate accordantly will result in fees:

- Continuous missed meetings may result in dismissal from DMA
For the month of November we will not have family meetings, due to fall conferences.
